9 Secrets To Being More Creative

Stephen Brewster

Have you ever felt you hit the creative wall or are facing a creative block? What if I told you there are no walls or blocks and that you can be more creative, daily, just by being intentional. Creativity is muscle not magic and in this session we will explore nine exercises you can do to be more creative.

Why and How Every Church Should Create and Release Original Music

Stephen Brewster

We don’t need another song, but your church needs a soundtrack to your ministry. We will talk about the importance of music in your ministry, how to set up a process to create, organize, record, and release music to reach your community.

Essentialism for Worship and Production Teams

Churchfront / Jake Gosselin

Stop over complicating your life, leadership, and ministry. Chances are you’re spending a lot of time, energy, and resources on things that don’t actually get you closer to your goals. But today it’s easier than ever to lose focus due to FOMO, shiny object syndrome, and endless “opportunity.” In this workshop, we’ll unpack practical ways to apply the concepts of essentialism to the creative life of a worship and production leader so that you can make a greater impact and grow your ministry.

Ableton Live Tracks and Automation Deep-Dive

Churchfront / Jake Gosselin

Ableton Live is the industry standard for running a click, tracks, and automation in worship. In this workshop, you’ll learn about advanced tips and tricks for making the most of Ableton Live. We’ll cover topics like optimal hardware configurations, crafting smooth song transitions, and advanced automation of production and musical equipment. Featuring special guests and Ableton gurus, Adam Beranek (Churchfront) and Matthew Schallmo (Calvary Jupiter).

The Connected Stage

What would your services be like if lyrics, video elements, lights, chord charts, instrument patches, and stage displays never missed a cue? What if they not only followed your set, but perfectly cued even spontaneous moments? What would happen if your production was perfectly automated for each moment and kept worshippers’ attention where it should be? What if your band showed up completely prepared so they can lead worship with comfort and confidence? Automating worship production has previously been reserved for those with big budgets or hours of free time to invest in learning complicated software, but not anymore.

Join Director of Products, Kristian Ponsford, as he showcases new and intuitive technology that can help eliminate distractions in worship, increase your production quality, and ultimately give you more time to focus on what matters.

All class attendees will leave with a complete set of resources including tracks, lyric slides, chord charts, pads, and more to fully experience The Connected Stage in their own services!

Care and Feeding of a Healthy Tech Team

Every worship ministry relies on its tech volunteers – the faithful few who show up early, stay late, and do whatever needs to be done to make sure everything goes smoothly. They're the first in, the last out, and often overlooked until something goes wrong.

Their goal is to be invisible as they work to eliminate distractions and keep the focus on worship.

Unfortunately, in many cases they remain invisible outside of worship and don’t receive the attention

and access to spiritual formation they also desperately need. In this session, we'll have a candid conversation about recruiting, retaining, and most importantly, ministering to your tech volunteers.

Discipling Kids in Worship

It’s time to STOP doing songs and START leading children in worship. Yancy is passionate about raising disciples through worship. She will share how your church can create a rhythm of worship through discipleship. The Bible says “people perish for a lack of knowledge." Teaching kids to worship is the secret sauce you’ve been looking for.

Cultivating a Rhythm of Worship in Your Church

What if worship pastors, Kidmin leaders and Student ministry worked together to strategize their worship programs? What if we started teaching kids from the youngest age about worship because we asked the question: what kind of adult worshippers do we want to have? Psalms says “One generation will praise Your acts to another.” We’ll discuss creating strategy and developing a vision to raise generations up with a knowledge of what worship is.

Tracks for Worship Made Easy

Loop Community

Using multitracks in your worship services is a great way to fill out the sound of your band and fill in for missing musicians. Getting started can be complicated, but it doesn’t have to be! In this workshop you will learn everything you need to know about using tracks in worship. We will build a setlist together, you will learn how to route your audio to your sound system, and more!

The Value of Volunteers

Jen Smale

One of the most valuable assets we have in ministry is people. Ironically, some of the most frustrating aspects of ministry also involve people. Therefore, learning to recruit, train, steward and shepherd the people who volunteer on our teams is crucial, not only to our church mission, but to our Kingdom reflection. Building a strong volunteer culture strengthens the Body on both an individual and corporate level. Staff members help chart the course, but volunteers help power the vessel! So, let’s work together to understand their value, appreciate their value and cultivate their value.

The Music Director (MD) Role in Worship

Johann Acuña

Have you felt the tension of keeping the band together and tight during times of worship? Are transitions choppy and rigid? Would you like to flow a bit more and add flexibility within your services, but you’re not sure if your band will be able to follow properly? The utilization of a music director (MD) can help provide clarity, flexibility, and confidence that will help you improve the freedom and quality of your worship experiences. We will be exploring the role of the MD, looking at various ways to utilize this role, and help set your team up for success.

How To Hear From God: A Proven System for Daily Devotions

Scot Longyear

Most ministry leaders admit that they struggle with a consistent time with the Lord. What if you could constantly hear from God? What if you could sense his voice like never before? What if you could start each day with an intimate, deep time with Christ? The solution is easier than you think. With the right system, you can hear from God with great clarity. In this workshop, Pastor Scot Longyear shares the simple system of Life Journaling. Originally developed by Pastor Wayne Cordeiro (New Hope Fellowship, Oahu), Life Journaling is a system of daily scripture reading and writing. Scot will give an overview of the Life Journaling system and lead each person through life journaling from start to finish.

Collaborative Creativity

Matt Goss - w/ Ryan Holmes (LCBC’s Director of Creative Worship)

Inviting others into your creative process can be both an exciting and scary prospect. It takes humility, patience and grit to find ways to truly work with others to create something you couldn’t have done on your own. Ephesians 4:9 says “Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor”. I’ve heard it said that you’re only as good as your best idea. If that’s true; more minds in a creative room will equal more ideas, and if harnessed properly will help guide you to the best ideas.

Improving the Audio for Your Livestream Broadcast

Worship MD

The pandemic forced churches and any other venue that hosted live music to shut down, along with restaurants, schools, sporting events and many others. I was deluged with requests from churches asking me how to set up a system that would allow them to stream their services to their respective congregations. Almost every church I know now is streaming their services but from watching and hearing the mixes, there is much that needs to be improved. Things are getting back to normal, and churches are opening their sanctuaries. We are able to gather together to worship in community; to fellowship; to connect. However, streaming is here to stay, it’s not going away by any means and now is the time to learn how to improve the quality of your stream.

In-Ear Monitoring

Worship MD

If you are already using personal monitors for your worship team, you may still want to know how to make better use of them; if you are still using wedges (floor monitors) you may be wondering how to begin the process of transitioning to them; What does they cost? What products are best suited for our church? How do we implement them into our present system? These and many other questions will be addressed in this workshop.

Why Does My Church Sound So Bad?

Worship MD

No matter what you do, does it seem like you will never grasp the concepts and techniques necessary to provide the best mix for your church? Let's look at some reasons why that may be the case and what are some common-sense approaches to get you closer to where you want to be.

The Flow of a Worship Service

Recording Yourself

Recording used to be complicated and expensive. It took weeks in a studio filled with hundreds of thousands of dollars of equipment and the financial backing of a record label to even start the process of releasing original music to the public. There's been a major revolution in the music industry, and pro-quality recording is easier and cheaper than ever. In fact, you can do it at home! In this session, we'll talk about practical techniques the pros use to record their music you can use to get the most out of your recording sessions.
